Something very special happened !!
At this year’s 22nd annual Fred Eaglesmith Charity Picnic a single Blueberry Pie HELPED TEN CHILDREN have better lives!
As you may know, we often auction a pie or two at Fred Eaglesmith shows in support of Operation Smile. To date, our fans have helped them raise almost $50,000 in the last few years.
It takes $240 to help one child in a developing country have a cleft palate operation.
At this year’s Picnic the crowd took to their feet as Fred called the auction and the pie climbed and climbed and hit the $2000 mark. The energy at the park was electric as we all felt the power of goodwill. $400 was then immediately donated so that we met our mark of $2400 or ten surgeries and changed lives.
This is over and above the funds raised from ticket sales and draws in support of Elephant Thoughts and Springwater Conservation Area.
